“We’re talking heaps of red dirt as far as the eye can see, steep gorges, and rocky, sandy terrain in dry
riverbeds that suddenly transformed during thunderstorms into rapidly flowing rivers that burst their banks.
Both the AT and MT RAZRs were really put through their paces in these contrasting landscapes, with both
holding up extremely well in very tough conditions,” Ronny says.
While the RAZR MT has been a long-time favourite tyre for Ronny on his numerous off-road trips and
adventures because of its outstanding mud tyre capabilities, he admits that the new RAZR all-terrain (fitted to
his Hilux for the Pilbara trip) surpassed all expectations. Calling it “surprisingly capable in muddy, rocky and
wet terrains” Ronny said it went above and beyond his experience with all other all-terrain tyres.
Ronny also points out that the latest all-terrain version of the RAZR doesn’t just do the work – it also looks the
part: With aggressive tread, when compared side-by-side with a mud tyre, it looks almost identical. Other
things that it has going for it is that it’s quieter and smoother on-road and longer lasting, with more km’s
delivered from each tyre.
“The MT772 suits my job and extreme 4×4 expeditions and conditions (quite literally) down to the ground.
During my latest trip it once again showed itself to be a real winner in taking on the challenges of the Pilbara in
a way that only a pedigree mud tyre can do. However, in the final analysis, if you want a great looking tyre
that’s pretty much as good and is going to last longer (along with the other benefits it offers on the road), my
advice would be for most people to go with the all-terrain RAZR.”
