The CBT Racing Team has once again pulled out all the stops to secure a much-deserved win in their class in the Burdekin 300 — the latest round of the 2021 Mickey Thompson ARB Queensland Off Road Racing Championship.
On the back of no less than two mechanical failures of their GQ Nissan Patrol’s main radiator fan during early stages of the race, the team pushed their intrepid Maxxis RAZR MT772s to their limits to make up for lost time through some staggeringly tough terrain.
CBT Team Driver, Christian Trusz admits that after their run of bad luck with the fan early on in the May race, limping home or a “DNF” looked like an inevitable end. However, refusing to give up and with loads of tenacity on board, the quick-thinking and dauntless team got right back in the game.
“The terrain was tough – from the sand in the paddocks to the rocky terrain in the hills, but we could not fault the grip from the formidable Maxxis RAZR tyres on the challenging terrain of the Burdekin 300 track. We pushed the tyres to their limits – and as we expected, they did not let us down!”
Despite their unfortunate start, over the course of the weekend, CBT Racing made up 18 minutes and ended the event first in Extreme 4WD class.
