It takes a serious off-roader to instinctively know and trust a tyre that can go the Exxtra Mile – as this month’s Maxxis Man Off-road Showcase contributor was quick to highlight about his trusty Maxxis RAZR MTs, which have taken him numerous times through some of NSW’s most rigorous mountain 4×4 tracks – and back.
Fitted to his 2017 Mazda BT50 GT 4×4, our May contributor (Dave’s) 255/70/17 Razr MTs do everything you’d expect from an off-road masterpiece, as they take on the rugged Lithgow landscape at the western edge of the Blue Mountains. With the RAZRs’ superior toughness, unbeatable traction and superb self-cleaning abilities, mud and stones fly – as nothing gets in the way of this extreme 4×4’er’s enjoyment of this demanding weekend playground!
“I went with the RAZRs off the back of the reputation of the MT Bighorns. They have such a massive following, I knew I couldn’t go wrong with the RAZR MTs – and I’ve been proved right, again and again!” Dave says.
“Plus, with an upcoming trip planned to the High Victoria Country in June (which will be no easy feat), I knew they would handle the punishment.”
Custom modifications to Dave’s hard-working and super rugged Mazda BT50 include a Tough Dog 2” lift, along with a set of SCF rock sliders and a tub rack. A King’s roof top tent gives him the versatility to set up camp anywhere his tyres take him (however remote), with ARB underbody protection providing extra fortification from damage that otherwise would almost certainly come with the territory!
