An independent review of Maxxis’ RAZR MTs by a highly experienced team of 4×4 experts and off-road enthusiasts in the remote West Coast of Tasmania, has seen the new mud tyre come through with flying colours after a gruelling test over all terrains.
The RAZRs were put through their paces by a review team contracted by tyreview.com.au, a new website launched in conjunction with Vehicle Logic, which holds a leading database of Australia’s vehicle, tyre and wheels information.
The “Winter Adventure”, which took place in mid-July, took the team through a series of Tassie’s most challenging trails from Mount Huxley, to Montezuma Falls, Climies Track and Henty Dunes, as they tested the mud tyres (fitted to a Landcruiser Prado) over rock, mud, water, sand and road.
The RAZRs surprised the experts by performing at an exceptional level through the harshest terrains, as well as on-road.
Among the many compliments given, they said that in rocky terrain the RAZRs “nailed it”, while in mud “they went really well – we were very happy with them, I’d pick these tyres any day!”
On sand, the RAZRs delivered such a smooth ride that the team said they felt “they were like driving on the road”. Although they admitted they were initially a bit dubious about how they would perform on-road (being a mud tyre) – the team were quick to provide a glowing report, saying that on the road they were “not at all slippery and low noise”.
The team finished by saying they would definitely recommend the RAZRs and that they were a good match with the Prado.
An outstanding review all round – go Maxxis RAZRs!
