Fitted with a new set of 15” Maxxis RAZR MTs, the last weekend in May saw CBT Racing’s GQ Nissan Patrol blitz the competition to finish 1st in Class in the 2022 ARB Queensland Off Road Racing Championship’s season starter, the Dalby 100.
CBT Team Driver, Christian Trusz explains that after the postponement and cancellation of a couple of races at the start of the year due to weather conditions, Dalby proved to be the perfect terrain to put the RAZR muddies through their paces – giving the team all the grip and more in extremely muddy conditions.
“Dalby 100 was one of the muddiest races CBT Racing has competed in to-date. The new RAZRs were unbelievable and offered so much grip in the tricky muddy conditions where we often had the Patrol on two wheels when cornering. The supreme grip offered by the RAZRs kept the wheels of the Patrol turning without missing a beat, and the team ahead of the competition.”
Following their 1st in class place at Dalby, the CBT team went on to compete in the Mt Larcom 100 in June – finishing 4th outright with another 1st in Class win.
“The conditions at Mt Larcom were the complete opposite to the muddy ones experienced in the Dalby 100. At Mt Larcom the track was dusty and dry! The superior grip of the Maxxis RAZR Tyres ensured we were able to put all the power from the freshly tuned Patrol to the loose dirt for another highly successful finish,” says Christian.
With two 1st in Class finishes now under their belt, the CBT team is revving and ready to go with the rest of the season – with the versatility of their Maxxis RARZs standing them in good stead for all conditions experienced. Watch this space for more updates as the season continues to unfold!
